Automatic Ash & Recycling Seperation

Automatic separation of the ash and recyclables after the process is accomplished by a collection of various items. First, the ash and recyclables are sent across a screen and shaker table to remove the ash. The remaining metals and glass can then be passed to another container by use of a magnetic belt. The magnetic belt can be used to separate the ferrous metals from the glass and aluminum. The glass and aluminum would be dumped onto another conveyor and the steel would be diverted into a container. The recommended way of separating glass and aluminum is by hand sorting. This can be done easily and is very cost effective, especially where labor costs are relatively low. If automatic separation is desired, the glass and aluminum can be separated using a specific gravity separator, which will sort the products based on density. It is important to note, though, that any other non-combustibles in the waste load (dirt, ceramics, sand, etc.) will also be present in the ash stream. Those items not small enough to be shaken out with the ash would have to be separated by some other means. This is why hand sorting of the glass and aluminum is so effective. These unwanted items could be easily distinguished and separated without causing problems for the other equipment.
